Barak Obama - NOT MY VOTE!

I am really quite surprised at how well Obama has been doing in the Primary Elections so far. A while back my husband sent me this photo of Obama, taken at some steak fry gathering in Iowa - and it shows Obama, standing through the singing of the National Anthem, without ever putting his hand over his heart. The link to the Article is http://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/mark-finkelstein/2007/10/20/obama-no-hand-heart-pledge-either-will-msm-notice

To be candid, I also watched the video of the rendition of the anthem, and I had been there, I may have not had my hand over heart either - my fingers would have been in my ears, but STILL... Obama seemed to enjoy the singing - he was singing along and clapped when it was over so what can I think...
I suppose I should also have a disclaimer here: I am assuming the photo and video are real and accurate - but in today's world, who knows...

For political information and opinions from someone who is much more articulate and much better informed and aware - I highly recommend you check out My "dreamer" friend Candace and her blog.

Suffice it to say, Gov. Mitt Romney has no need to worry that Oprah will sway ME to the Obama camp. I want a President who respects America's flag, America's Anthem (even when very badly sung), and who respects, lives, and defends the values that America once stood for.

Wow, this was interesting. I had been impressed with Obama so far. I liked so many things about him even though I consider myself a Republican.

I am going to look in to this more because I agree, I want a patriotic and respectful president.

Good thing I wasn't there. He would have gotten a talking to! I give that lecture to students everytime we say the pledge and they are walking in the hall- stop and stand still!- or talking when the rest of us are repeating the pledge. If you are not going to stand and place your hand over your heart, at least have the decency to be quiet.

But this alone, would take my vote away from Obama-if he had had it to start with. My 2 sons are willing to die so this man can act so casually towards our national anthem. Disgraceful behavior.

Jeri - The picture of Obama is accurate. To give him his due, at other times and places he does put his hand over his heart, but its hit and miss. I don't want a president who is so lackluster about the national anthem which embodied the hopes, dreams and fears of the founding fathers and the soldiers of the Revolutionary War. Besides all that, he's a screaming socialist bordering on communist. We DON'T NEED HIM in the oval office, Clinton either while I'm ranting about it.

Mitt's the man!

Jeri - are you joining us for lunch tomorrow. I just realized I don't have your email address. I don't know how that's possible, I was positive I did. But the Beautiful Bodacious Babbling Blogging Babes are meeting at Brick Oven at 1:00 tomorrow. I really hope you can make it, let me know tonight, okay?

How did you determine that this image is accurate? I did not see the video, but this image looks photoshop-ed to me. The pixelation around the people, the seemingly warped perspective. Shadows on pants and floor seem like a possible mismatch. It is hard to tell. The image quality it bad, but I was wondering how you knew it was genuine ... not arguing, just wondering.

I understand what you're asking Mike, that's why I wrote "I suppose I should also have a disclaimer here: I am assuming the photo and video are real and accurate - but in today's world, who knows..."
If you go to the link - then scroll down, it has a link where you can watch the rendition of the anthem - but beware - it really is awful!

You probably read in Candace's comment "Jeri - The picture of Obama is accurate. To give him his due, at other times and places he does put his hand over his heart, but its hit and miss."
